Nothing But The Blood

"The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

1 John 1:7

Philip Keller was a caring shepherd in Canada for many years. He was also a very gifted writer. I'm fascinated with his words that speak volumes about our relationship with our Savior.

"A rattlesnake bit one of my sheep in the face about a week ago. The deadliest snake that lives around. The sheep's face was swollen and hurt like crazy, but the old rattle did not know the type of blood that runs in the sheep.

The antidote, most of the time, is made from sheep's blood. The sheep was swollen for about 2 days but the blood of the lamb destroyed the serpent's venom. I was worried, but the sheep didn't care. He kept eating, he kept drinking, and he kept walking because he knew he was fine.

Don't worry about the serpent or his bite, just be sure that the Lamb's blood flows through your veins."

What a powerful truth!

Everything we need to live the Christian life is in Jesus. Just as the bloodstream is the source of our physical life, Jesus is the source of our spiritual life. By His power in us, we have been given all things that pertain to life. We must learn how to possess the power that is already in our possession.

The blood of Jesus not only supplies every need, but it also continually cleanses us. We are purified every moment of every day, if we let His blood flow through us.

Throughout history, disease has been a greater threat to mankind than any war or wild beast. In the same way, anything Jesus has overcome, we can overcome, by His powerful blood flowing through our veins.

Never forget that there is no sin-stain that the blood of Jesus cannot remove—none!
