“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29

Have you ever asked yourself, “Is this as good as it’s gonna get?” If we say “yes” then we probably settled for the bruises that life hit us with and we find ourselves sitting in the rubble of our brokenness.

There are moments in our lives that split our lives in half. A fractured heart is the perfect place for addiction and dysfunction to settle in. Life hurts, but God heals. What sin empties, grace fills. What shame breaks, mercy heals. What sorrow steals, love restores.

I believe that people who experience God as just an assistant to their healing miss out on genuine healing. He’s not our assistant to healing – He’s the director of our healing – if we let Him! God should be leading the way through our valley of hurts, habits and hang ups!

We are missing real healing when we say, “God, I’ve got this and this, but I’ll give You the places that I can’t heal.” That’s wound control! That is not how God works with us! We should never pick and choose what we give God to heal. How about trusting Him with all your wounds and worries? God is not looking for your greatness, He's looking for your weakness and then you will find His greatness.

Healing is recovering what was lost or stolen. So what was lost or stolen from you 5 years ago? 10 years ago? 15 years ago? Or 40 years go? Was it peace, security, love, dignity, sanity, trust, freedom, strength, innocence, or happiness. Our Celebrate Recovery ministry is a tool that God uses to help us get back those things that were stolen from us, manipulated away from us, or beaten out of us. People get stuck in dysfunctional living and deadly thinking when their wounded emotions paralyze their courage to overcome.

Wounds if not overcome will overcome us! Wounds if not healed will turn into a battle of self-hatred! And wounds turn into a cycle of defeated thinking!

“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22

Hurts and habits are not final.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

Your destiny in not in brokenness, but in blessedness! Your identity is not in your wounds, but in your healing because you are precious to God.

Yes, I know the devil tries to write your destiny and identity in the wounds of your soul, but I’m reminding you that the name of the enemy of your soul is written in the wounds of our Savior to remind him of his destiny!

Expect God’s Power.

The power of God split atoms at creation, the power of God split the Red Sea for Moses, the power of God will split open the sky with the return of Jesus Christ! Don’t you think that the power of God can break open healing in your heart, in your mind and in your spirit?

The power of God goes untouched by many of us, and we wonder why we are stuck in our hurts and why healing seems so far away! It’s time to expect the power of God in your healing! Don’t be afraid of the power of God! God’s power and presence in your life will never abuse you!

Anxiety can be defeated.

“Anxiety weighs down the heart…” Proverbs 12:25

“Banish anxiety from your heart and cast off your troubles…” Ecclesiastes 11:10

At times life feels like a lion is chasing you. Sometimes it feels like a bear has spotted you. But it’s just anxiety trying to intimidate you. Relax you are safe with God. When you claim the peace of God you realize that you can’t always control what's going on outside, but that’s when you start to control what's going on inside you. Anxiety harnesses us to our obsessive thoughts of fear, memories, and emotional pain. It’s time to cast off the harness of anxiety and trust God!

Love Must Be Accepted.

The apostle Paul, a man who had a past of deep wounds, wrote such healing words, “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the GREAT love with which He loved us...” Ephesians 2:4a

Now wonder John is bursting at the seams when he writes…“Behold! What manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God…” 1 John 3:1

John tells us that God’s love is a past tense continuous action – remember, love is a verb! If it sits on a self, it’s not love! God loves us not because we have our lives all cleaned up, far from it! He loved us even when our lives were black as night and broken into pieces. Accept His great love today!

You can heal, in Jesus’ name!
