Inspire A Hurting World

"Jesus saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:36

Everyday as believers in Christ, we must interacted with people everywhere we go. I try to constantly be sensitive to the Holy Spirit everywhere I go just as Jesus was when He traveled from town to towns. Everywhere Jesus walked, He was emotionally impacted by people all around Him which contributed to Him being spiritually inspiring.

As He encountered people on the streets in Cana, Samaria, Capernaum, Nazareth and Jerusalem, He was emotionally impacted by the people existing in a religious wilderness, bound in a superstitious prison, and suffering everyday in relational loneliness.

Jesus was the greatest inspirer whoever walked on this earth. He inspired people in the middle of their problems, in the middle of their hunger, by touching and healings, and by taking authority away from Satan and every demon He encountered. And He has inspired millions of searching, hurting, broken people through the centuries through His death, burial and resurrection!

Because of the serious never-ending problems in our world, our very negative news media, uninspiring political leaders, and comatose churches, millions of people are being robbing of any glimmer of HOPE!

With our lingering problems on the minds of so many, as Christians, we must always be emotionally impacted as we encounter friends, family, neighbors and co-workers who are struggling with hopelessness, loneliness, fear, anxieties and sickness.

God has every believer in this world to inspire lost souls! There is no shortage of bruised and broken people all around us! So, there’s plenty of spiritual inspiring to do!

Christians should be the most spiritually inspiring people on this planet. The early Christians were! For the first 300 years of the church’s existence, Christians turned pagan followers into Christ followers. They believed God when all the odds were against them. They spiritually inspired a pagan world to turn their lives over to a loving God, a saving God, and a caring God. Today we have the same power, we have the same gifting, we have the same Scriptures, and the same Holy Spirit as they had 2000 years ago! So, no excuses allow!

I love these 2 definitions of “inspire” in Webster’s Dictionary, 1) to influence or guide by divine or supernatural inspiration. 2) to fill with courage and strength; to provide someone with moral or spiritual understanding.

The Bible says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, and that means, because of the resurrection power of Christ in us, we can be filled with divine courage and we can influence a struggling world as we guide people to spiritual understanding, And we can expect the Holy Spirit to touch the hurting and fearful hearts around us.

Christians can’t change the world through name only. It must be done through our inspired actions that inspires the attitudes of others.

Henry Drummond said, “I will pass through this world but once. Any good thing I can do, or any kindness I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”

So, remember, we need to be emotionally impacted by hurting people all around us, and then with the right actions and Christ-like attitude, inspire them spiritually! In these difficult times we all are facing, this is when believers are the most powerful and productive for God!

So let's be emotionally impacted by the brokenness in our culture and then, together, let's spiritually inspire the world to live for Jesus Christ - our risen Savior!

God bless you,

Pastor Dave
