A God Wink
"We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus,
so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago."
Ephesians 2:10
Sometimes God has a bigger purpose for the things that we do and it doesn’t always look the way we think it will.
I painted this painted yesterday. I took a good portion of my day working on it and I even thought that God had put someone on my heart to give it to. But I had it all wrong. This picture was taken in front of the elementary school where my daughter was playing basketball yesterday, at God’s instruction, which I felt was really strange. He urged me to take it with me, and I even argued with Him because I didn’t want to juggle it and everything else I had to do. But when He says something, I do my best to listen. So I took it with me.
I found this tree and I took the picture for this post, then I protected the painting with my life though the rest of the game. When it came time to go home, I set it on the hood of my car while I loaded up my kiddos, and I forgot all about it. That’s right, this painting now lies somewhere between that elementary school and home.
At first, when I realized I had lost it, I felt a pit in my stomach. All that work was gone! But I quickly thought about the person that might find that painting at just the right moment.
The one who is feeling lost and needs a "God wink" to get them into the next step of their journey. Maybe someone needs confirmation that God exists and that painting will give it to them.
I don’t know how this story ends or who will find it. But I know that if God led me to do it, then there is a purpose behind it. Someone needed it, and God knows who that is!
We all have a story, just like the painting, that someone out there needs. Someone out there needs to hear how God has taken care of you, uplifted you, or brought you through the impossible.
The enemy wants us to stay silent about the dark corners of our life that God has redeemed. He tells us that people will judge us, that they will look at us differently, that we should be embarrassed, but if those dark corners point to God in the end, then we should be shouting our story from the rooftops. Stop holding back and share it.
Show people how amazing God is! And He will be faithful to use it. Because He is GOOD.
God Bless you,
